The sugar white sand and the turquoise water of Destin, Florida created the gorgeous backdrop for Stephanie and Kyle’s wedding day. They knew from day one they wanted a relaxed space with a chill vibe for the week of their destination wedding. The couple decided to rent out a beach house in Flordia’s small coastal town of Destin. This Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida is what good times and tan lines are made of.

For their wedding, they envisioned a smaller and more intimate day with close friends and family. The beach house was a perfect fit for that vision. They knew they wanted a place for friends and family to feel at home and welcome, so they rented a house that was big enough for the whole wedding party to stay at.

The backyard overlooked the scenic aquamarine ocean of Destin Beach. They set up a small ceremony space on the white sand. There wasn’t a whole lot more needed to decorate the area, the beautiful natural surroundings did the perfect job!

High Tide & Good Vibes: Bridal & Groom Preparations for a Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida:

It was a bright and sunny day on Flordia’s Emerald Coast when Stephanie & Kyle decided to say “I Do”. The girls got ready in the main beach house on the ocean while the Groomsmen hung out at the house across the street. Being so close to the ceremony space really created a sense of comfort and ease.

The Bridesmaids and Bride got ready in the upstairs master suite of the beach house. This large open space provided the perfect area for the girls to lounge around in. The room was full of laughter, hugs and tons of beach babes.

Kyle & Stephanie’s Salt Water Ceremony was nothing short of perfection. Skies were clear and the emerald green ocean rolled in waves of love. I’m not gonna lie…Kyle’s Best Man Grayson stole the show.

Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida: Sandy Toes and a Saltwater Beach Wedding Reception in Florida’s Gulf Coast:

After the gorgeous and intimate ceremony on Destin Beach, the guests and wedding party headed back up past the sand dunes to the reception. The nice thing about having such a big beach house was that it had the perfect size backyard for a fun, informal and relaxed reception.

Kyle…a big comic book nerd? Who would have thought that? Maybe by the tiny sugar fondant batman on their wedding cake or the fact that their son is named after Batman’s famous sidekick Robin (Dick Grayson). Fun little details like that were sprinkled throughout their wedding day to really ad a personal touch.

Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida: Sun Kissed Star Wars Light Saber Battle of the Babes:

A super fun awesome surprise that Stephanie had waiting for Kyle at the end of the night was the Epic Light Saber Battle!! The DJ divided the dance floor up to bridesmaids on one side and groomsmen on the other. They were instructed to face opposite directions. On the count of three, they turned around and met their Jedi Masters. Each bridesmaid was flashing a lightsaber around and tossed a spare to a groomsman and the battle began! I personally remember seeing Kyle’s flabbergasted face at this exact moment…I remember his jaw hitting the floor and Saying “Babe this is so hot!” Classic!

Have you ever wanted to hear the cutest proposal story of all time? Because here it is…

Stephanie has been passionate about dance since she could say her ABC’s. She is an incredibly talented dance instructor for her a local dance Academy in Ashland, Nebraska. The end of the year recital was upon her company and they were preparing for the big show. Kyle always helps with setting up props and lending a helping hand…why? because he’s sweet and down to earth guy who loves his woman….but this year “something suddenly came up” and he came up with a very convincing excuse as to why he wouldn’t be there. So, like most of us when your significant other tells you they are not going to be able to make it to something that is SO important to you…Stephanie was pissed.

Anyway, the show MUST go on as they say. During the recital, there is a teacher performance by all of the instructors at the academy. As the performance was coming to an end, it was Stephanie’s part to run off to the side stage, BUT as she was doing that another teacher grabbed her by the arm and whisked her back to the middle of the stage where she was surprisingly seated front and center. Completely dazed and confused she starts looking around and notices that she is now the only one on stage in front of this giant audience!

Suddenly, music comes on over the speakers and tiny little dancers pour out on the stage and start circling and dancing around her. Even more confused and her heart going a hundred miles an hour, because this was so unexpected, she starts actually listening to what’s being played on the speakers it’s “Bruno Mars ‘Marry You'” Lyrics: “Is it the look in your eyes, or is it this dancing juice Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you”.

Omg…tears.so.many.tears. It clicks! She now realizes what’s happening! Her hands wiping away the tears and a vision of blurry dance kids forming an aisle… she see’s Kyle walking on to the stage holding their son Grayson. They were both dressed in matching formal wear. The two most important men in her life there on one of the most important days in their families life happening in this moment. Kyle then told her how much he truly loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and Grayson by his side…forever. He then proposed. “I nodded my head like an idiot because I couldn’t talk because I was still crying and my dance kids still make fun of how confused I was to this day!” ( I love that quote SO much)

Beach Wedding in Destin, Florida: Any advice for future bride and grooms?

“Don’t sweat stuff that doesn’t go exactly as planned. We were supposed to have a tent and by the time they showed up we would have had to push back our wedding two hours so they could set up, we just told them to leave. Thankfully it was beautiful outside so we didn’t have to worry about it, but I wasn’t really that phased by it much with everything going on. The whole day goes by so fast so just make sure you take it all in and really enjoy it. And if you want to do something or have something, like maybe a lightsaber battle…DO IT! You only get married once! And if you have Nicole as your photographer she takes some pretty amazing photos to help you re-live it all :)”
